Stessa Rent Collection Fees: Plans, Payments and Funding in 2026
The short answer
Stessa rent collection fees depend on the plan and how the tenant pays. Its plans list online collection. Paid tiers add other tools and faster-payment features. A free starter plan does not prove that each payment or bank service is free. Check the terms for the route you intend to use.

What's covered5
Check the current Stessa plan, the destination account and the tenant's payment method before quoting a fee. Keep the software subscription apart from transfer and optional service costs. We confirmed collection access in the plan table, but did not establish a complete current fee schedule for every route. Unknown charges stay unknown rather than becoming zero in a total.
Stessa rent collection fees: what is established
Stessa's price table lists online rent collection and tenant autopay for Essentials, Manage and Pro. Essentials has no plan fee. Manage and Pro add paid features. Paid plans also list faster collection. That broad claim does not promise when a specific payment will reach your bank.

Keep banking terms separate
Stessa's plan page describes cash management through Thread Bank. It says Stessa is a financial technology firm, not an insured bank. Read the account terms before you open it or move funds. Keep deposit terms and payment charges apart from the software plan fee.
Do not use a variable interest rate to erase a known fee in your comparison. Interest depends on balances and conditions. A payment fee belongs on its own line. The public plan page itself shows different rate figures in separate sections, so this review makes no current yield claim.
Stessa rent collection fees: questions before setup
Ask which fee applies to a bank transfer for the selected plan and destination account. Check the payer and whether the landlord can cover it. For cards, ask for the exact rate and any fixed amount. Confirm whether the charge is added to the tenant's payment or taken from the landlord payout.
Then check returns and faster funding. A fee tied to a failed event should not appear as a fixed normal-month cost. A paid tier with faster collection may have eligibility conditions. Keep those conditions beside the claim rather than using a general “instant” label.
Build an honest fee record
Use these fields when you inspect the account terms:
- Exact plan and billing term.
- Linked bank or cash-management account type.
- Payment method and expected transfer count.
- Rate and fixed charge, if any.
- Payer and the setting that controls it.
- Return or faster-funding condition.
- Source and date checked.
Leave any missing field marked unknown. Do not reuse a rate from a different plan. If you obtain a new fee from checkout, keep the context with it. A screenshot of a number without the plan or method is not enough to update every page that mentions Stessa.
Check what reaches the books
The tenant ledger should show the full payment and the rent period. The bank may receive a payout after processing or net of charges. Keep the detail that explains that gap. Do not count a transfer between your own accounts as new rent.
Stessa's accounting tools may reduce re-entry, but review imported transactions. A bank feed cannot decide the purpose of every receipt. The rental accounting comparison covers the recordkeeping side of the choice.
Compare Stessa with another route
Use the same payment count and payer for both services. A free landlord plan with a tenant fee is not directly comparable with a paid plan whose landlord covers fees. Show both sides. If one service has an unknown charge, withhold the cheapest-total verdict until the gap is filled.
Check the ledger export and cancellation terms too. A lower payment charge is less useful if you cannot retrieve the records you need. Keep outstanding transfers visible during a switch. The collection process explains how to set a clean cutover date.
Frequently asked questions
Is Stessa Essentials a paid subscription?
The current pricing page lists Essentials as free. That describes the subscription, not every payment or bank service. Check the selected route's fee terms separately. Do not tell a tenant that card or bank payments are free solely because the landlord is using a free account.
Does a paid plan mean every fee disappears?
No such conclusion follows from the plan table. Check each transaction and service row. A tier can add reports or faster processing while other charges remain. Compare the full billing term and actual events. Do not turn one waived or reduced fee into an all-in free-payment claim.
Can I use an interest rate to compare payment cost?
Keep it separate. A variable rate depends on balances and account terms, while a payment fee follows a transaction. The amount earned can change. Do not subtract an assumed yield from a fixed bill and call the result a guaranteed cost. Read the current banking disclosures before choosing an account.
What if I cannot find the current fee?
Ask for the exact selected-plan terms and keep the charge unknown until they are clear. Do not copy a number from an old review. Include the method, payer and destination account in your question. Those details help distinguish a real fee answer from a general free-subscription statement.
Verdict on Stessa rent collection fees
Compare Stessa rent collection fees only after confirming the plan and route. The free subscription is established; a complete fee schedule for every payment is not. Keep those claims separate. Use the rent fee guide to compare the same events and payer across services.
